Financial independence is a key driver of gender equality, yet millions of women and girls in Africa face barriers to economic opportunities due to limited access to education, financial resources, and business support. Elevate Her Economic Independence is committed to breaking these barriers by supporting initiatives that provide:

  • Entrepreneurship Programs – Funding small business grants, skill development workshops, and mentorship programs to help women establish and sustain their own businesses. According to the World Bank, women own only 1 in 3 businesses in developing economies due to financial and societal constraints. (Source: World Bank)

  • Financial Literacy Training – Teaching women and girls how to manage finances, save money, and access credit. Research by the Global Financial Inclusion Database reveals that only 37% of women in sub-Saharan Africa have a bank account, compared to 48% of men, limiting their ability to invest in their futures. • Job Creation & Vocational Training – Equipping women with marketable skills in industries such as technology, agriculture, and trade. The International Labour Organization (ILO) reports that only 63% of women participate in the labor force compared to 94% of men in some African regions, leaving millions of women economically vulnerable.
